I have owned an HP Color LaserJet 2600n for the better part of two years now without a single problem. No replacement of the drum, Not a thing except buying more toner carts. So when it was time to look for a multifunction printer, I looked into the HP version and found that it's reviews were poor and so I looked into the Canon.
Needless to say I am very disappointed for a variety of reasons. If I could make this review ZERO stars, I would! I have owned the printer for a little less than a month and so far, here is what I have encountered:
1. Driver installation was a bit challening as the "auto-find" function to locate a printer on the network did not find a printer on the network. I had to manually add it by IP address. Sure no biggie if your an IT guy but (1) I am NOT and (2) the HP driver found my printer right away without a hassle.
2. Once installed, I had (and am still having) trouble printing the right quantities. For example, if I say...Read more

Extremely noisy - warms-up every time the telephone rings in anticipation it might be a fax coming-in. Sounds like a clothes dryer with several boots bouncing around inside. Can't hear the other party on the phone call because of it.
Can't print from MACs - What's my daughter supposed to do to print her Graphic Designer school work from her MAC. I was SHOCKED to find there are no drivers for MAC. I've had a number of color printers in the past (HP, Lexmark, and others - all of which had drivers / could be used from the MAC).
Can't stop print jobs. It says you can, and accepts the input indicating print jobs are cancelled, but it just keeps spewing page after page anyway, and there is absolutely no way to stop it and move-on to another print job without allowing everything to print. My son accidentally sent a 100 pg+ document to it one day, and I sent 19 pages just today when I really just wanted to print page 1. There was no stopping it. I just pulled the...Read more

I am unimpressed and outright dissapointed with the quality of this so-called color laser printer. The prints are inkjet quality at best. The setup is difficult with a Vista machine and the usability is limited.
Prints:
Quality is substandard. Paper handling is limited. Comparison to my Multipass 730 - I go with the inkjet.
Vista:
Only the network driver works as of this writing. The USB driver is in spanish which makes it unworkable for me.
Overall, a bad device that is not worth $300.00 let alone $600.
