I PURCHASED THIS PRINTER ON 01 /01/2008 ITS BEEN CLOSE TO THREE YEARS NOW AND I HAVE PUT THIS PRINTER THROUGH HEAVY USE ,ON MY 3RD FULL MAX INK CARTRIDGE,USED AS A BUSINESS AND PERSONAL PRINTER. THIS DELL 1720 LASER PRINTER HAS NEVER FAILED IN ANY WAY, THIS IS OUTSTANDING. O MAINTENANCE,O PAPER JAMS ,EXCELLENT PRINT QUALITY ON ECONOMY SETTING.
USED ON WINDOWS XP PRO WITH UPDATED DRIVERS.IT HAS PAYED FOR ITSELF 20 TIME OVER IF YOU CAN FIND ONE NEW SNAP IT UP AND ENJOY.THIS PRINTER WILL REPAIR ITSELF JUST READ THE MANUAL OR GET HELP ON LINE IF YOU NEED IT ,LASER QUALITY WOW WHAT A PRINTER.AND I WAITED ALMOST 3 YEARS TO WRIGHT THIS REVIEW.I LOVE THE SELF DIAGNOSTICS LIGHTS.

This refurb printer lasted less than 6 weeks. It stopped picking up paper from the tray, does not recognize the level of toner in the cartridge, and will randomly decide it takes an hour to print. Certainly didn't get our moneys worth for this one.

POS printer.. I've had this for a few years and I'm throwing it away. Print quality was never as good as an ink jet. Duplex printing worked the first time and then jams from now on.
Dell discontinued this almost as soon as it was produced.
