The OKI works but you cannot get the print darkness to an acceptable level. Compared to an elevan year old HP laserjet 4L, the OKI doesn't measure up. Sorry I bought this product.

It is my first laser mono. I bought this for small office use, printing mostly black and white text document.
Pros and the Rub:
1. it is cheap for printing cost compared to inkjet.
around 2000 pages for a toner cartridge.(depends on your usage for full text or partial text)
2. Frequency for paper jam is much lower compared to my inkjet.
The rub : It depends on the thickness and surface texture of the paper. If you are mixing papers with different thickness, the jam will happen as thinner paper will stack together in printing process. It happens too when it comes to paper with difference texture.
(it is recommended to use same thickness or surface texture paper to avoid jam)
3. the printing speed is much faster than my inkjet
When you are printing normal document, the printing speed is pretty fast.
The rub: if you are printing scanned document, it is slightly slower.

For $50, this is the cheapest brand new laser/LED printer that I could find. People are still trying to sell Laserjet 4s for $30-40 everywhere I look.
It is obnoxiously quiet most of the time, to the point where you think it isn't doing anything at all. Then, poof, it starts outputting a page.
Two issues with this printer, which may make it useless to some people, are as follows:
The paper's path is very tightly curved and will cause significant bowing in the paper.
Worse yet, the output quality is ... unpredictable. You cannot ever use toner save mode, since parts of the page will be extremely light or missing entirely. Even with regular settings, there is a significant pattern of lighter 'zones' where an insufficient amount of toner has been deposited on the paper. Now, it works fine for printing stuff that only you plan on seeing. However, I would never recommend that anyone print something like a resume/CV on this thing. It will bend up...Read more
