NOT compatible with high yield toner,

Purchased specifically because it was supposed to work with MLT-D205E high yield toner. Samsung changed their compatibility specs and now the larger toner is no longer supported with the printer. I have been fighting with Samsung for 6 months, they tell me that it is compatible then not, tell me it's a defective toner but won't warranty it, tell me it's a defective printer but won't warranty it. I've wasted $159 on the printer and nearly $400 on toner that I cant use and haven't been able to print anything. Samsung would not even allow me to upgrade to the 3712nd to get the features I purchased the 3312nd as advertised to have, even when I wanted to pay them to do so. I have given up and will go back to my old printers and let $550 sit here since I don't trust that any cartridge will actually work in it, and it costs twice as much to operate as was planned with the smaller cartridges.
Great so far,

This is an amazing printer. Really fast to first page and then fast from then on. Very easy to install the network attachment mode. I still crack up at the two sided printing, when the paper almost gets out then goes back in to print the other side. I do not see any degradation in the quality of print when in "toner save" mode. All in all I would reccoment this printer.
Great Printer (On WinXP & Linux),

Very happy with this printer. But there were a few things I did that might confuse or be too much for the reader. (I set mine up via network connection.)
On the local Windows XP computer I installed the driver. Initially the user had VPN up, so that was problematic, then the Firewall (Comodo) was acting freaky so I just removed the printer from the list.
I then reinstalled it manually like I would any other network printer I have drivers for: Add New Printer, Local, Port (IP), Enter IP address (Easiest way you can find this by the control panel on the printer and/or printing the config page.), tell firewall to let it through. Working!
On the Ubuntu 10.04 Linux beast, I got the drivers online and removed the previous Unified drivers and installed these new ones. Entered the IP, and works! Also the new drivers worked with my local Samsung printer without issue as hoped for. Sweet!
One thing Linux does is tell me there's a jam before correcting...Read more
